One of the most important day in someones life. Love,happiness, emotions: this is what a wedding photographer usually tries to capture on the day. But this is not the case for Martino Chiti: he shows us the dark side of the special day. His project is very ironic, but this is not an irony that makes us smile, rather it makes us distressed and upset. Martino has magnified the sense of awkwardness that many of us may have felt while attending a wedding, with its contrived fun and sense of alienation. Dark and unconscious feelings seem to surface amongst extremes and bad taste, unhappiness oozing from illusory happiness. A tragicomic show captured with brilliant intuition and very effective use of the photographic language.”
